Nanowrimo– just a little further
I hit the three quarter mark today on my nanowrimo challenge. I’ve heard from a couple of fellow writers on their progress and have three writing buddies registered, and one who’s doing it in an unofficial capacity.
That’s not what I’m going to write about, not about my characters, not about the pep talks we get to keep us going, nor the social activities hosted or managed by area leaders. Might be kind of fun, but that’s not my intention by joining. In fact I didn’t know going in that there was such a thing.
What I’m talking about is seat-of- the-pants on a chair and churning out words, watching characters develop before my very eyes and not having to worry about the writing, only getting it done. It’s still challenging.
Some days have been easier than others, and when I had to miss a day or two on account of a conference, I had extra words to make up. It’s been a good discipline so far, freeing in that we aren’t to get worried about quality. They say, “Save the editing for December.”
So, fellow nanowrimo writers, let’s finish the race with ourselves and make it to the finish line. Keep writing!
