Reading on Radio
Several weeks ago, I represented KW Writers Alliance on CKMS FM radio 102.7 for a program some creative person initiated.
The program is called Reader’s Delight. It’s aired every fourth Sunday afternoon from 1-2 p.m.
Since I responded early, I’m guessing that was the reason to be on the first episode of Reader’s Delight on January 28th. Or perhaps one of the organizers, Vanessa or Caroline, arranged the line-up. At any rate, we had the interest of the radio station and its listeners. According to Caroline, listening from home, our voices came across clearly.
On first thoughts, I was unsure whether to choose a story in a storytelling mode, but on thinking about it, I decided to read as intended. After all, I am an oral storyteller, whether all of my stories are used that way or not. Some of them are. Then I had to decide which story to read.
Our host, Jody, had done her homework. She was ready. She greeted each one of us warmly and appreciatively and asked about what we write.
I had been in that same studio a number of years earlier as a storyteller with Jeff Stager. That was more of an interview with music and storytelling interwoven with questions Jeff asked and I had answered. And so this day in 2024 was a different experience.
The two gentlemen who read before me wrote in different genres so our program for that day was quite varied. Good for the listener.
Here, you can listen to Episode 1 with Carl, Brian and me

Watch for Episode 2 and listen on as authors read from their work.
It was a pleasure to hear your story. I hope you return as a guest and entertain us with more of your work!
Hello Jody, thank you for your reply. I would love to do that. It was a good experience and I love to share my stories.
