Musings in March
When the snow begins to melt and the temperature edges into a bit milder state, I begin to dream of spring, of taking down winter wreaths and eventually putting away winter coats and boots. But it’s alternately cold and wintry along with some milder days, so it’s too soon and I can only dream, and plan.
I suppose garden centres are already nurturing early seedlings, if not yet, then pretty soon. A notice came from a local garden centre that they’re getting spring bulbs.
Already spring fashions are displayed in the clothing areas of department stores, and craft stores have us dreaming and planning to decorate for the season.
And it makes me think of springtime and the wind drying the land when there’s a different smell in the air, earthy and fresh. And the first shoots of early spring flowers beginning to poke through the ground.
But not just yet, though it will surely come soon. As spring comes, the world will become green again.
Then I woke to this… a white world. Sigh. Guess we wait a little longer.
