Not just for the girls- a family wedding shower
Tomorrow I’m hosting a family shower for my niece and her fiance who are getting married in August. We’ve bought them a barbecue. It’s not a secret. They have a house and small things, but one thing they wanted was a barbecue.
Last evening my husband and I started putting the pieces together. Charbroil’s top comes already assembled, but the stand was in many pieces. We got the top screwed onto the stand we had built and stopped for the night. This morning my husband discovered that the control panel was bent. Who would have known?
Luckily the store had more in stock. This evening my husband had to do some of those same steps again. He said it went faster this time. I suppose those people who assemble them in stores get pretty quick at the job.
The barbecue is ready now as are other preparations for the event. Let the day be a good one.
“Some assembly required” — those dreaded words!
Hope the shower goes well!
Thanks, Joanna.
My husband prefers to put things together himself, but even with this one he was puzzled. I said that this might be one time it’s good to read the directions.
The shower was amazing. My family helped with food, and there was plenty of it, attractively displayed. Those who were able to come seemed to enjoy themselves, and the young couple, Paige and Adam, were most appreciative of the effort, the barbecue and the extras to go with it.
Someone is going to have to make a trip with a truck to pick up the barbecue since it wouldn’t fit in their car.
The day has been a good one, weather, company and all.
