Saturday Snapshots–Mother’s Day Hike
My husband and I went for a hike on Mother’s Day, following the trail that runs through our region. Here’s a few photos I took along the way.
Small butterfly looking for nectar
The trail connects with Bluff Side Park along the Grand River where we saw these geese. One goose shakes out his wings after swimming.
Pink and white trilliums by the hundreds along the bluff.
Return this coming week to see more photos from our walk along the Grand River Trail
At Home With Books To participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see.
Looks like you had a beautiful walk.
We had a good walk. It was warm, but not too warm, and we had a sunny day, perfect for a walk. I took a lot of photos. Thanks for stopping by.
It was a good walk, Louise. Thanks for stopping by.
I love all these beautiful warm weather sights. Great photos.
Thanks, Diane. I love taking photos as much as going for the walk.
Such pretty sights along the way. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Pretty shots. I bet there were lots of photo ops along the trail. I’ve been finding beautiful butterflies everywhere. It’s so nice to see the plants and wildlife off to an early start this year.
Take a walk and enjoy the beauty of spring and the outdoors.
I have to learn the name of the flowers.
That’s it, Edgar. Taking the time for a walk and enjoying nature. Take a small flower book with you or better yet, take pictures and search for the namees afterward.
Looks like a nice walk — I love bringing a camera on walks, you never know what you’ll find that makes a great picture!
That’s so true, Melissa. We take our camera on most outings. We had a good walk. Come back again this week when I post more photos from our walk.
Lovely photos! I think we are all craving a bit of outdoors these days!
Thanks, Sharon. It would seem that way. I’m not the only one posting photos of walking places.
Looks like it was a wonderful walk!
My snapshot is here.
Looks like a wonderful trail. Thanks for sharing.
I’ll be posting more photos on my blog this coming week. Maybe you’ll come back and check.
You’re on my feed reader, so I might 🙂
Despite best laid plans, here are the photos I planned to post earlier this week.

Geese are so entertaining…but I never dare get very close to them!
Geese can be aggressive sometimes. We had them on our farm for awhile. I could zoom in on them with my camera.
That’s pretty! I haven’t seen many butterflies yet – I can’t wait until they show up!
We have quite a few already. I’d like to get more plants that attract butterflies. Thanks, Alyce.
I love the goose with his wings out–that’s a terrific shot.
Here’s my Snapshot
Hi Bev,
I was just lucky to catch him while he spread his wings. Thanks.
This time of year is just so perfect for long walks! In a couple weeks the bugs will be intense here … blackflies are so annoying! We are really enjoying being out in the yard and on the walking trails right now!
Blackflies are more common further north from us, and I’m sure they can be just as annoying as mosquitoes are here. Thanks for stopping by.
Lovely, peaceful photos. Here’s Mine
Remember the line to “stop and smell the flowers.” We both enjoyed the afternoon.
