Saturday Snapshot–Spring Flowers
My flowerbeds have been bursting in colour the past few weeks. Here are a few snaps I’ve taken recently:
Yellow-tipped red tulips. Alas when I went out this morning, the colourful petals had mostly dropped or were blown away in the wind.
Pasque Flowers–started blooming at Easter and still looking beautiful
White bleeding hearts (taken this morning)
and the pink bleeding hearts (also today’s photo)
and one more, a flower so strong in scent that it stays in the garden- the purple hyacinth (finished blooming now)
I’d love to see your flowers too.
To participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky below. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see.
I love those two-toned tulips–how fortunate you got a picture before they blew away.
I’m glad of that too. I bought the bulbs at a nursery last year and thought the colour variation beautiful. Thanks for stopping by.
Those yellow and red tulips are striking!
I love the colours too. There was already a lot of purple and yellow in my flowerbeds and I thought these would stand out too. And they have. Thanks for your comment.
How beautiful! I can’t get flowers to bloom very well here near Dallas TX, sadly. I have fond memories of the garden in NY where I grew up though! My Saturday Snapshot.
I went looking for plants that survive well in sandy soil and in bright sun. Native plants, ones that have always grown in that region, are the best choice and most hardy. Gaillardia will bloom in late May, early June and last until our first frost. What flowers did you have in New York?
So many beautiful plants. I’m glad you got a shot of the tulips before they lost all their petals. They look so good, but sadly don’t last very long.
Love these– they bring back memories of spring flowers where I grew up (central Illinois). The spring wildflowers are much different here in the Sonoran Desert!
I’m trying to image what the hyacinth smells like. Very pretty flowers!
The scent is quite strong which is why they stay in my garden and I don’t bring them into the house. But they are so pretty. I have white ones too each spring.
Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
A lovely tour through your garden. This has been a glorious spring for flowers.
Yes, it’s been a good spring for that. Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the tour.
Beautiful!! Gotta love spring!!
Thanks again for stopping by and commenting. I’m not sure I got to your site yesterday. Will try to get there yet.
I loved the tour. So much colour!!
Here is my Saturday Snapshot post!
I’m envious.
They’re all gorgeous! Your yard must look amazing.
I could not remember, do the bleeding hearts have pleasant fragrance like gardenia?
It’s wonderful to walk along your flower beds.
If the bleeding hearts have a scent, it would be a mild one. I’ve never gotten my nose that close. I know that gardenias have a scent.
