A bouquet for the bride and groom
This weekend, my niece will be married to her fiance, Adam. They have planned and saved, budgeted and probably prayed that their day would go well and that the sun would shine on them as it did for Paige’s mother and father at theirΒ outdoor wedding more than 25 years agoβwith only a small shower that people said was good luck. Paige had declared that she wanted an outdoor wedding too.
My husband has been watching the weather channel and giving me regular reports all weekβ for tomorrow. Chance of rain has varied, from 50% and higher, but I hope the weather man is wrong on all accounts. It’s not because the bride and groom have neglected to buy a tent for the occasion. Her father has a large drive shed that’s quite respectable and large, a place where the ceremony can be held, if necessary. I still hope they get sunshine.
All our love to you on your wedding day, Adam and Paige.
I pray that the wedding went well.

Thanks, Kimberly. The wedding went well indeed. The rain stopped about an hour before the ceremony and the sun came out from behind the clouds.
We can make plans, but we cannot control weather, so it was an added blessing for the bride and groom and all of the guests to hold it outdoors as had been their hope and dream for their day.
I’ve heard that too, about rain on a wedding day, but who declared that to be so?
Cari, Thanks so much for your kind visit and comment on Susan’s wonderful post about her aunt Edith. I’m so glad the wedding went well. I never believe weather forecasts, but it’s funny how consulting them makes us feel better somehow, as if they give us a little more certainty!
