Books, books and more books — No Comments

  1. The books abound here too, so much so that I’ve begun to — gasp — cull them. It’s like I used to say to the kids when they outgrew their toys: if you’re not going to play with (in my case “read”) them anymore, why not take them somewhere where someone else can enjoy them? Give them a new home?

I haven’t been too ruthless about this. There are still reference books in each office, a wall of bookshelves downstairs, 4 bookcases upstairs plus the books under my bed and scattered around my room…

One thing I’ve started doing to raise awareness of Canadian Christian authors is to read those books extra-carefully and then give them away on my blog. Sharing is good.

  2. I know what you mean! My bedroom has a lot of books in it and I hardly have anyplace to put them. I can’t wait to redecorate my room then I will have more room to put my books!! :p

    • Hi Amanda,

      Great project idea!
So glad you stopped by. We’re both book lovers, I think. I’ve recently read a speech called “William Lyon Phelps Praises Owning a Library” that was broadcast in April 1933.
His library contained 6, 000 books. His answer to people’s question if he had read them all: “Some of them twice.” Wonder what kind of books he liked to read best.

Keep on blogging, Amanda. I’ll come back and check your blog again.
