Post Holidays
My garden awaited on return from our holidays and so did my plans for canning and relish making. With a friend, we made dill pickles, bread and butter pickles and I made pickled beets on my own as well as another batch of the bread and butter pickles that were so tasty.
Since then I’ve been harvesting more beans and tomatoes from my home garden and some from our community garden bed. It’s nearing the end of summer when the nights are cooler and the days are still often warm.
The Tavistock Fall Fair has been and gone. Along with sales at my book table, I had many conversations with people I knew in my hometown community, but also with people I’d never met before. I must say that having the face painter next to my table ensured that many families with young children came by.
It’s been a busy and productive summer and early September and so it was good to get away on a writing retreat this past week, to catch up on my writing.
How has your summer been? Did you try anything new?
