Poetry Collection Travelling Light
Just over a week ago, I picked up my order of Travelling Light, a collection of my poetry that’s been published in various places from 2002 until this year. From literary publications to denominational magazines and in my own books, these poems range from light-hearted and playful to imaginative.
Introduction
Travelling Light takes you on a journey—playful, pondering and not always practical but upbeat and imaginative. The lightness as that of a kite taking off, when an adult child leaves the nest. Moments of nature when seasons sing, when a bush lot allows a visitor into its secrets. Imagined moments of a doorbell taking messages, children dressing for Halloween, the sounds of rain on the roof. Listening in on conversations in the kitchen with Grandma. Seasons, places, riding on a train or driving tractor, and children playing in the sandbox or at the lake—so many opportunities for poetry to make an appearance, for the poet to play with words and sounds.
I present Travelling Light, a collection of my poetry. Enjoy!
