What does a person write about?
A few posts ago, I wrote about the empty page and the challenge it can be to writers. Sometimes those words just roll out on the page and then other times they don’t. When I speak to a group of writers or my students, I tell them, “Write what you are passionate about. Write about those things that make you cry, make you angry, or make you happy, and that offers a piece of your heart.” Then the reader can hear your words and understand.
If it’s about your concern for the environment, write about that. If it’s a story for your family that lets them know a little more about who you are, write it. If it’s a song for someone special, write that too.
