Saturday Snapshots–Camp Edgewood
April flowers at the church camp (2010)
Cedar Lodge at Edgewood (2010)
Our women’s retreat at our church camp is coming soon. As well as our usual Bible Study, we do a craft, go for long walks in the campgrounds, worship outdoors, socialize and eat well. Looking forward to it. Perhaps I’ll get more pictures this year.
To participate in Saturday Snapshots, post a photo taken by you or a family member and link to meme host At Home With Books.
What beautiful flowers. Just a little gift under that tree. I’ve had some good times at church ladies retreats too. Have a great time at your upcoming one.
I liked that photo so well that I combined it with another flower photo and had special cards made. Looking forward to getting away. We have a lot of fun. Thanks.
Those flowers are so sweet. It’s wonderful to get away for some nature time, isn’t it!
Thanks. The nature time is good and the camp has some good features, like our walk up to the ridge, usually Saturday morning.
I love spring flowers. Looks like a nice place.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting. The camp is going through upgrades and there’s plan to replace this cabin with something larger, but not just yet. It’s a nice camp; schools use it too.
I love the flowers… first signs of spring make me so happy!
I’m with you there, Sheila. They do the same for me. Thanks for stopping by.
Such beautiful flowers can pop up in the most random places…
Tis true, especially in woodland or sunny areas. That’s nature at its best. 🙂
Such pretty flowers and love the lodge too..
Here is my Saturday Snapshot post!
The lodge has no frills, but it does have the essentials and we have cooking facilities there too. I love the woodland flowers too.
I love the idea of beautiful flowers growing wild like that…so special 🙂
I think that’s why they caught my eye. It was still early and in the woods there’s not many flowers at that time of year. Thanks for stopping by.
Sounds like a wonderful get away. enjoy.
Thanks, Irene. I’m sure it will be a good retreat again.
A rustic retreat. Hope you enjoy. Even more flowers should be in bloom with the warm weather this year. Here’s Mine
That’s just one of the buildings. Was a counsellor at one time when the cabins for the children and counsellors looked like mini log cabins. There are still some of those. Will maybe get a picture of those when I go. Thanks.
Looks like a peaceful place:)
It is peaceful. The only times when it’s not is the land adjoining the camp that’s a rifle range for people to practise. We can hear it when we walk up to the ridge.
Those flowers look so pretty, and it does look peaceful. I could see why you would look forward to that!
I love the flowers! So hopeful in the spring.
Here’s my snapshot.
I agree. It’s one of the best parts of spring! Thanks for stopping by.
There are a variety of features of the retreat and being in the outdoors and away are two good ones. Thanks, Alyce.
Beautiful flowers there under the tree. You couldn’t pick a better spot to plant them!
It’s hard to say how those flowers came to be there, but they are pretty. Thanks for stopping by.
The rustic setting and fresh air are good for the soul.Feel the presence.
It is, Edgar. I like to just sit and be quiet there. Thanks for stopping by.
I think I’d enjoy a church retreat that include Bible readings during a massage and pedicure. That’d be my kind of retreat. Yours looks a little rustic for me, but I’m sure you all have a great, refreshing time. Here’s Mine
Wonder what the ladies would say if I proposed a pedicure at the same time? It likely wouldn’t happen at this camp. We had a good weekend, not too much rain and we had good company and excellent food.
Looks like a great place to camp out!! Quite the lil’ getaway! Woodsy flowers, too. Nice!
When I was a camp counsellor at that camp in my teens, we did go on overnight campouts and one of my favourite things was our campfire when we sang songs and watched the fire burn down.
Beautiful white flowers! Looks like a lovely place for a retreat.
Here’s my Snapshot.
Looks like such a peaceful place. Great photos
After we unload our gear, all vehicles need to be driven back outside the gate to the parking lot. It is peaceful. And thanks. I do love taking pictures.
I loved going on my church retreat … it was surreal to be removed from all the responsibility of home life for those three days … so refreshing. I hope you enjoy it again this year!
I enjoyed being there; that was a couple of weeks ago now. Always like being our at our church camp. Thanks for stopping by.
