Saturday Snapshots–Steckle Heritage Farm
On Monday, February 20th, I was a guest storyteller at Steckle Heritage Farm for their Winter Fun Day. Though we haven’t had much snow, we were blessed with some just the day before so families were able to go tobogganing as well.

What a fun way to spend a winter day! Those sheep certainly look nice and warm with all that wool.
They do. And we learned that the wool also keeps them cool on a hot summer day. Who would have thought!
That looks like a really lovely time — although Stanley doesn’t look all that excited about going out in the snow.
Stanley had to be coaxed. Maybe he just wanted a rest.

That’s a great experience for families. I can still remember visiting a real farm and it was more years ago than I want to say. Being able to see the animals up close was something to remember.
I grew up on a farm and so this farm inside or at the edge of our city limits is a good thing. The staff offers school trips and summer sessions for children.
That looks like a very fun event!
CTV came and took pictures and so the event got some news coverage too. Staff member Krista said there were 6000 people in all; they were thrilled by the attendance.

You obviously hit something a lot of people love. And your pics of farm animals are great. I love the sheep especially. I spent the early years of my childhood on a sheep farm and often had pet sheep.
