Saturday Snapshot–It’s winter — No Comments

    • Usually by about late February, I’m ready for the snow to be gone, then I try to wait patiently until spring. As for the birdhouse, it needs some new shingles and a place to set it up in the yard.

And I like your picture too. So peaceful.

  1. What a sweet little bird house. You’re already looking very snowy! We’ve had a few flurries but nothing on the ground yet.

    • Thanks, Trish. I liked it too. That’s a picture from a year ago. We have snow, but not quite this much yet. It certainly felt like winter yesterday when the snow was falling. The ground is getting a little colder, and that’s when the snow stays.

    • The day I took this pic of tracks was just after a big snowfall and I took advantage of the early morning sun and no other tracks or footprints. I was pleased too. Thanks.

  2. I’m envious of the snow – so pretty! We’ve been having really cold weather the past couple of weeks, and if it’s going to be that cold we could at least have some snow to play in.

  3. I love to walk on the first day of snow and look at the magnificent whiteness everywhere, gaze at the treetops and watch the sprinkles fall down with the whispers of a light breeze .

    • Amazing what snow can bring to a landscape. Except for blizzards and driving, it can be very pretty. Thank you for your reflections on walking in snow.

    • Thanks, Vicki. Snow presents some interesting scenes on trees and in yards. Will have to get out this winter and take a bunch of photos of snow in trees and everywhere.

  4. Great wintry photos! We’re getting some snow here in PA today, but it’s not laying yet. Earlier this week it was up in the 60’s…Crazy weather for this time of year!

  5. I love wondering what made tracks in the snow. Here we have what is called bulk trash day and everybody drives around to see what everyone else is throwing away. One man’s trash is definitely another man’s (or woman’s) treasure!

  6. I don’t know many tracks in the snow, but I know rabbit tracks.

Picking up other people’s cast-offs is not my usual thing to do, but that bird house caught my eye.

  7. The older the bird house the better the birds seem to like it. The birds in my yard usually choose the weathered house over the newer ones.
