  1. Do you enjoy those impromptu talks? I think they would freak me right out! Is a person allowed any prep time at all? Can you jot down quick notes, for example? I guess it’s all part of learning to think on your feet – right/

  2. No notes. Just a short pause to think about, it then dive in. You’ve guessed right about that. Sometimes it’s more challenging than at other times, depending on the topic. When there’s freedom to make things up, it can be fun.
    What impromptu speaking practice prepares people for are those opportunities in the real world outside of Toastmasters when we must be prepared to speak about what we know, as in yesterday, talking to other people at the trade show. Who can anticipate all the questions one might get.
